What is it?

The Secular Institute Daughters of the Nativity of Mary (Esp.: Instituto Secular Hijas de la Natividad de María) is an institution of the Catholic Church in which its Members · is · linking to it by issuing the three vows of chastity, poverty and obedience. Has papal approval and is governed by a Statutes adopted also by the Pope of Rome. The Institute supports two types of members: the common life and the scattered members, who live their consecration to God from his position in the world or from the bosom of his family. · They differ from religious congregations that are consecrated laity. They live their consecration in the world and from the world, but not of the world. Secular Institutes are based on Provida Mater Ecclesia of Pope Pius XII.

Current Board

It is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of five members of the Institute. The current board is made ​​up of the Daughters of the Nativity of Mary appearing in the picture. They are chosen by vote at a General Assembly held every six years and they are represented in all countries in which the Institute is present.

Who are they?

In the beginning, the Secular Institute of the Daughters of the Nativity of Mary, was formed by a group of First Catechism Catechists and Girls Atocha.

Over the years, they were incorporating young people from all places of Spain and Spanish America. Many of the Daughters of the Nativity of Mary before were students of colleges from different countries.

Its founder, Don Baltasar, sent them the charism received the Holy Spirit: The experience of the Children   Spiritual Gospel style, delicate and tender love for the Eucharist and Mary preferential option for the poor and children and a missionary spirit deeply rooted. He was modeling those girls in the heat of the Eucharist and under Mother Mary.

He commanded to make a carving with the figure of The Child Jesus and the Eucharistic attributes: wine and bread, and was doing that those girls and young women were falling for that precious child.

They will be the ones who, after having worked with the founder, will continue his work through the ages.

The IS Daughters of the Nativity of Mary is his heir and responsible for continuing the work that the Holy Spirit inspired one day Don Baltasar.

What so he founded?

Don Baltasar, who lived for the Atocha neighborhood, was a "dreamer", but a "dreamer to the divine", and he dreamed for those times that he had to live... and so founded his work great.
